Development of a coal deposit in Kyrgyzstan

Our key project, Kaldar Ata LLC, is located in the southeastern region of Kyrgyzstan. This project underlines our commitment to unlocking valuable energy resources and contributing to the economic development of the region.

We have successfully completed an extensive geological study of the coal deposit. Exploration began in the summer of 2024, during which we identified a significant thick seam of coal. Several drilling operations were conducted to evaluate the extent and quality of the resource, establishing a strong foundation for future development.

Utilizing advanced geological techniques, we are continually validating the potential of this promising deposit, ensuring efficient and sustainable operations for many years to come.

Project Features:

  • Geological exploration: Ongoing work is focused on the eastern part of the deposit, where coal seams have been identified at depths ranging from 294 to 325 metres.
  • Strategic Location: The project's location on the southern foothills of the Alai Range, makes it part of the Alai coal-bearing region. Proximity to the Kyrgyz-Chinese border (Irkeshtam) provides logistical advantages.

Coal characteristics:

  • Brown coal with high calorific value, suitable for power generation and industrial needs.
  • Seam thickness varies from 20 to 30 meters with low ash content, which improves its applicability and marketability.

Exploration Stages:

Exploration and development of the coal deposit are structured in three clearly defined phases to ensure systematic progress and maximize resource utilization:

1.

Exploration of the eastern section. In progress. This phase focuses on detailed geological analysis and resource confirmation.

2.

The exploration of the western site is scheduled for the upcoming phase of development. This phase is specifically designed to enhance the investigation of the western section, where the presence of intact coal seams is suspected

3.

Exploration of the central site is planned for the future. This phase aims to integrate the exploration results from both the eastern and western sections to develop a comprehensive production strategy for the entire field.

This phased approach ensures resources are thoroughly assessed and prepared for operations, minimizing environmental impact while enhancing project profitability. All three phases are set to be completed by 2025.

Economic Impact

This project exerts a considerable influence on the local economy through the following avenues:

  • the creation of employment opportunities for community residents;
  • the enhancement of infrastructure, resulting in regional benefits ;
  • the generation of export revenue, thereby strengthening international trade relations.

Environmental Sustainability

Environmental sustainability is a critical component of this project. The measures that have been implemented include:

  • The establishment of efficient water management systems designed to prevent the depletion of water resources.
  • The development of reclamation strategies focused on restoring the natural environment subsequent to exploration and extraction processes.
  • Strict compliance with both international and local environmental standards.

Market potential

With the increasing global demand for coal, especially in China, this project is well-positioned to meet this high demand and provide a stable supply.

Outlook

Looking ahead, IBM General Trading LLC intends to:

  • Expand operations to explore new areas in the region.
  • Invest in advanced mining technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Investigate opportunities to diversify into related industries.

Why invest now?

GROWING DEMAND

Increasing demand for coal: Coal consumption in China has risen significantly, with imports growing by 61.8% in 2023.

Stability

Political and Economic Stability: Encouraging Foreign Investment in the Kyrgyz Republic.

POSSIBILITY

Exclusive chance to participate in the early stages of a large-scale project. There is still an area of 900 hectares for further exploration.
